Working as a member of various multidiscipline project design teams; and reporting to the Electrical Staff Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the electrical input to Water Industry projects at all stages from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed designs for construction. As a minimum you will need to demonstrate the following: • Recent electrical design experience to BS7671; working on electrical projects in the chemical, process utility or allied industries - Water Industry experience will be a significant advantage • Specific experience in the evaluation, design, and specification of electrical power and control systems, including the production of electricity supply, switchgear and motor control centre, instrumentation, and cabling detailed design packages – knowledge of industrial HV systems and power generation will be advantageous • DSEAR and hazardous area electrical installations • Technical supervision of design work performed by others • Experience of testing, setting to work, and the commissioning of electrical equipment and systems • A practical appreciation of electrical safe systems of work - previous experience as an Electrical Authorised Person will be beneficial • Knowledge of various methods of contract procurement, ideally including the ECC (NEC) Form of Contract A suitable candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills: • have a good Client facing manner, and be confident and highly motivated; whether working as part of a small team or on their own • be able to communicate clearly; both verbally and in the production of good quality written documentation • be able to integrate their work with other discipline areas, and to work to programme and budget constraints • be proficient in the use MS Office applications, and have a good appreciation of AutoCad and AMTECH software - experience of a power systems analysis package will be beneficial • A willingness to travel within the Northeast (and on occasion; the UK) is essential. |
